When Rachel Park, 20, first watched Breakfast at Tiffany’s, she became obsessed with the classy Audrey Hepburn, enchanted by the glamorous New York City lifestyle, and dazzled by romance. When this Philadelphia-raised girl began researching colleges, she found the place of her dreams: New York University. While pursuing a major in Journalism and English, she is still infatuated with her love for love, now professionally as an intern at The Knot.

Five Weddings: For the fall semester, I am interning at The Knot, which is an online and print magazine. I’m obsessed with weddings. I had a big thing in high school when I thought I was going to be a wedding planner. My friends call me a pretty big romantic. I always loved weddings, the whole event itself and thinking about children and families afterwards. I want to have five weddings, because there are so many different ones to choose from! I want to experience them all. There are church weddings, beach weddings, weddings abroad and Disney World weddings. I just want to get married so many times and experience them all. Poor husband! We’ll see though, I have a few more years.

Fascinating Fame: When I was a kid in middle school, I wanted to be an actress. I was into musical theatre in middle school. I’m a very dramatic person and my friends say I act like my life is a movie. I always liked the idea of fame because I used to read celebrity magazines a lot, and still do. I wanted to be like one of those celebrities. I wanted to act and be someone different for a little bit. I never acted on it, but that was always my dream. But now I don’t think I’ll go into that. I think after I grew up a little, I just found my talent and passion in writing rather than acting.

Writing Talent: I have this thing where I don’t think I’m good at anything. I only think I’m adequate at things. I took piano lessons from when I was five to 18, but I still don’t consider myself a good piano player. I also played violin from third grade to eleventh grade, but I’m horrible even after taking lessons for eight years! People used to always tell me that writing was a talent of mine. That’s why I looked more into journalism and that’s how I got more interested in the field. I interned at Cityist.com, an online fashion blog, last spring. I actually like writing a lot, so I’m glad I chose to go into it.

Living The Dream: I always liked the idea of going to a city school. It’s probably because of all the movie images of bright lights and lots of people. The thought that you can do anything, the city that never sleeps, all of that influenced me to want to be in the city. People dream of coming here, and I live here. Coming to the city was always a once a year thing. My family drove from Philadelphia, which wasn’t bad but not that much fun. Sometimes, it’s hard to remember that I’m in the city and have fun with it because I’m still in school, but it gives me a lot of opportunities, such as living in a city full of prestigious companies and many, many up can comers, that can benefit my future and that I can really enjoy.

Guilty Pleasure: I love reality shows. I watch Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Jersey Shore, Toddlers and Tiaras and Say Yes To The Dress. I’m not into American Idol and other singing shows. I’m more into lifestyle ones that show that famous people are normal. I just like seeing other people’s lives. I’m very nosy. I especially love “coupley” ones. They wedding dress show is obvious.
